Piper and I went for a walk at dusk, a great time of the day to take some photos. Humble dwellings and this amazing art! I also like the contrast with macho truck in the foreground. On my walk everyone is so friendly, a little reserved. But when I say buenas tardes or Hola, they always respond with a smile. Seem so genuine. Now…. some of the dogs are a different story. I’m just glad the scary ones (clones of pit bulls) are always behind bars. There are so many kids and they play way into the evening outside. Especially on a Saturday night. People don’t stay inside. Neighbourhood parties, music, smells of barbecues. Really, despite the poverty everyone seems pretty happy here. Especially the children. So openly friendly and fun. Everyone knows Heidi, my host.
